They want action. What non-canonical Christ the Lord book do we have —minimal historically agreed upon facts as some might call it — that Jesus existed and that his followers believed he rose from the dead? Not only has this book had an impact on me, but the explanations behind it did as well. It wasn't that long ago stories like that gave me The Willies. He needs to know why his family came to Egypt, why he has powers others don't, and why his relatives sometimes regard him with fearful awe. Michael Horton, editor of this helpful volume, has searched this debate out very intensely.

Rice plays it pretty safe, limiting her Christ's opinions to innocuous topics Christ the Lord book how much he loves his family, how much he enjoys learning, and what jerks the Romans can be. Check out the Livius website and some of the embedded links for more information about various historical characters mentioned in the novel. Belief in the revelation of God in Christ is a necessary implication of the Christian life itself. The church is beyond any doubt historical, and its very existence is a testimony to this occurrence. As you look to the book, you look to the Lord. Nothing like it.

I suppose others have done books like this, but this is the stand-out. Scot McKnight quite a good Jesus scholar himself and a prolific author opens his comments about Rabbi Moffic and his book reminding us of the need to listen well to one another, especially in conversations between Jews and Christians. It can show you how to get closer to the Lord and access greater power to resist temptation. Maybe it just shows how wacko I have become that I loved them. They want action.
